Discover What A High Performance PC Is All About

Don't you just hate a slow PC? And when you start getting error messages that mean absolutely nothing to you, don’t they make you worry that something ‘not good’ is happening to your PC? These nail-biting moments can be prevented you know.

RegCure is the industry’s leading Windows registry cleaner software. The Windows registry is a complicated database that regulates hardware, device drivers, software applications that you install and use, users who have access to your PC and each of their preferences on your computer, and more! In short, anything and everything you do on your PC affects your Windows registry so it really is no surprise that it gets bogged down (we call it normal PC wear and tear).

Left unchecked, a burdened Windows registry will cause applications to produce error messages and make your PC slow down, freeze, and eventually crash.

RegCure will help you prevent all these scenarios. With its advanced registry cleaning technology, it will scan, diagnose and fix all erroneous Windows registry entries, leaving you with nothing but a highly-optimized PC. And all that in under 2 minutes!

Now, don’t you want a super-fast PC? Aren’t the files on your computer worth protecting?

Filed under: Gaming, Google Docs — Derek @ 9:56 am

Spielberg is spearheading three games from EA. The first of the three is called “BOOM BLOX”. A puzzler with 300+ levels, co-op, a level editor that you’d be able to trade over the internet.

“My inspiration for this game came while I was playing the Wii for the first time,” said Spielberg. “BOOM BLOX plays on the enjoyment of building and knocking down blocks, something that can appeal innately to kids and adults of all ages.”

Spielberg is also rumored to be making a game that is heavily influenced by the 2001 cult hit ICO. That game is to come to the XBOX and the PS3…

An Australian research company found that cell phones are very unlikely to cause cancer. So all of those times your mom or that guy thats eating a tofu burger and wearing to much hemp, tells you that with that phone to your head is going to give you a brain tumor… Just tell them to do their research and stop peaching on a dead horse. The researchers saw that using a cell phone was no more dangerous than deodorant or drinking coffee!

Filed under: Cameras, Cell Phones — Derek @ 8:55 am

Kodak is pending a patent for a chip that will enhance the power of a cell phones camera. Bringing up the mega pixel range of 5 or better to cell phones. And since the chips are much smaller they are cost effective for cell phone developers. We should be seeing these popping up around 2009.

Gaming In a World That Frowns On Gamers…

Filed under: Gaming — Derek @ 12:16 pm

If your a gamer, like myself, you feel looked down on. Specifically by adults, anyone 15-20 years older than yourself. They think that we are worthless, lazy, good for nothing slobs. And to a few gamers, yes, that is very true. But the majority of us are productive, hard working and “up right” citizens. I’m sorry that after a hard day I like to sit down and play a game that lets me take the stress and angst of the day to another world.

And in the last decade we have a lot of media and politicians that are trying to make gaming in general out to be the down fall of our civilization. Violent games were to blame for Columbine, and countless other atrocities. Did these people ever take a history or psychology class? The Romans had gladiatorial games. And just not at the Arena, some of the rich civilians would pay the fighting schools and have the gladiators fight in there homes during parties! And that “was” the golden age of Enlightenment?

To me the Politicians and the Media need to grow up and look at their selves and the way the schools and the parents aren’t doing their jobs. I grew up playing Doom. I didn’t go out and shoot the school up because I was being picked on. No I got on the Sega Genesis and shot the demons and monsters. But also, my parents also taught me at a very young age that there was a difference between the two worlds. And that if i shot a real person, they most likely wouldn’t be ok.

And I don’t know how some one can call gaming childish. The gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar powerhouse. The leader in new technology. Some of the games have better story lines than most novels and movies.

And with companies like Nintendo making systems that anyone can use like the Wii. Its bringing in more people to our side.

I just can’t wait for the time that everyone has a console system in their home. And the that the past time that i choose is finally not the scape goat for a stupid fed or reporter to make a mockery of, Because of their own failure.

Alienware ALX Gaming Rig…Beautiful, but is it worth it?

Filed under: Alienware, Gaming — Derek @ 8:35 am

If you can build your own desktop, then you may want to just move on…

the newest edition to alienware computers is a beautiful piece of machinery, on the inside and out. but at a price… configured it would probably cost you around $5800, and around $5000 if you set it up yourself. And with everything there are pros and cons… With this unit though i think the pros out weigh the cons.

PROS: 1.This beast will play any game you install, including the much anticipated Unreal Tournament 3 and Crysis. 2. Since its Alienware you know your getting a system with unmatched performance. 3. Alienware support

CONS: 1. Hot and Loud. 2. The 32 bit Vista wont support the 4GB of ram. 3. And last but not least, literally, is the price tag on this beast…

SPECS:

Intel Core 2 Extreme Processor @ 3.0GHz (OC’d to 3.33GHz w/ Liquid Cooling)
4GB DDR2 800MHz MHz SDRAM
2 x 768MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra GDDR3 in SLI
Optional Blu-Ray Drive/Burner
Up to 4TB Hard Drive over 2xRAID 03DMark06 Scores
Overall: 15856 (97th Percentile)
SM 2.0: 6366
HDR/SM 3.0: 7323
CPU Score: 4480

But if you don’t really want to take the time into building a comp that you could easily make for around $3000, thats not including the BluRay drive, and easily over clock yourself…But if your looking for a Desktop that could easily play any game that will come out in the next few years and never worry about if it will handle it. And the 60fps isn’t bad either. And your also paying for the awesome Alienware CS. They give special discounts to their customers on upgrading their systems. And they also will do a clean up on the system to make it run even smoother…

Warez = Free Software or Warez = Huge Problems

Filed under: Pirated Software, Warez — Derek @ 10:50 am

Okay so anyone with even just a little knowledge of a PC and the internet can probably find a way to get computer software for no cost!  Warez sites are all over the place and a simple search can find you just about any paid software for free!  However, does warez sites really provide free software and at what costs to the user?

Well to answer the last question, YES!  Warez sites do offer paid software for free to download.  While this isn’t illegal that doesn’t seem to stop people as pirated software is a major concern with all big software companies, however, are warez sites safe?

This question becomes alot more complicated but of course we will explain it the best we can!  One very important thing that you need to remember is that 99.9% of warez sites do not actually host any of the software as to avoid legal issues.  They simply link to another site which has the software for download.  The problem this causes is most of these warez sites do not actually check the software for safety which means the chance of the package containing virus, spyware, malware, or whatever else isn’t that unlikely.

In a test we ran to see exactly how much of a problem this was when it came to downloading warez, we of course went to a warez site and downloaded some software.  (All of which was deleted immediately after tested)  Out of 25 programs we downloaded from various warez sites, 10 of them contained extra software bundled in.

So before you think of trying to save 20 dollars and getting an illegal copy from a warez site, consider the fact that if your computer gets infected it could cost you alot more than the 20 dollars you would of spent if you would of just bought the software!

Three PC Tools You Should Have!

Filed under: Computer Tools, PC Tools, Repair Tools — Derek @ 2:24 am

If your anything like me, anytime your wife, girlfriend, or any other family member or friend for that matter has a problem with their computer, they call on you to help them with it. So below are three tools which you can throw on a flash drive to help you in your moment of need or torture as I like to call it.

EasyCleaner - This repair tool searches the computers registry for unnecessary entries and gives you the option to delete them. Along with its main feature it also contains useful tools like an Add/Remove utility, although no better than windows, a tool for finding and deleting duplicate files, and a space usage tool letting you know where all your precious hard drive space is going. Best of all, its 100% FREE!

PC Wizard - A FREE tool providing you with a full list of the computer’s specs that your working on. This tool will give you the BIOS make and number, the motherboards operating temperature, type of RAM and CPU, and more!

Undelete Plus - Another FREE tool to help you recover Aunt MooMoo’s files that she accidentally deleted. It has a very high success rate of recovering these deleted files as well unlike most programs.

Again, the great thing about these programs is that you can completely run them from your flash drive without having to install anything on your, your family’s, or your friends computer!

Is It Possible to Get a HD-DVD Player for Under $100?

Absolutely, Wal-Mart will be offering, part of its Pre-Black Friday promotion, the Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD player for a whopping price tag of only 497 dollars!  We’re just kidding! Wal-Mart will be offering this HD-DVD player for only $98.97.  This could mean alot in the struggling war between Blu-ray and HD-DVD formats.

As most know that have taken the time to look at the High Definition systems out there, Blue-Ray is more expensive than the HD-DVD format.

Do you feel that the price of HD DVD equipment coming down in price is enough for the HD DVD format to take the lead in this war between high definition formats? For less than a 100 bucks, I think we’ll see HD-DVD pull ahead for sure as they are making it a lot easier for cash-strapped consumers to get into the HD world at their own pace.

88 Million Copies of Vista Sold to Date

Filed under: Microsoft, Wall Street Journal, Windows Vista, Windows XP — Derek @ 10:33 pm

Despite there being tons of incompatibility issues with Windows Vista, it seems Microsoft has is doing better than even the Wall Street Journal suggested. The company reported revenue of US$13.76 billion for the first quarter ended Sept. 30, up 27 percent from the same quarter in 2006.

This number, 88 Million Copies Sold, beats Windows XP by almost double in the same amount of time at its launch.

Microsoft and CFO Chris Liddell credit these strong sales in emerging markets, due in part to anti-piracy and legalization programs there.

Three Quarters of the copies sold of Microsoft Windows Vista were higher priced “premium” versions, compared to a little over half of Windows –primarily XP– available a year ago.

This is truely great news for Microsoft and I’m sure they are glad to hear it!
